How it works

Gross WPM = typed characters ÷ 5 ÷ elapsed minutes. Net WPM = max(0, gross WPM − incorrect characters ÷ elapsed minutes). Accuracy compares the current text with the passage by character position. Edited-away mistakes are not counted. Hindi uses Unicode code points, which can differ from a portal's keystroke method.

Practice results are estimates based on your inputs. Check the rules and calculation convention in your own exam notification.

A few useful answers

When does the timer start?

Select Start test or begin typing. The timer stops automatically, even if you stop typing. Completing a passage ends the test early using actual elapsed time.

Are these official typing marks?

No. This is a practice convention of five characters per word. Exam portals may use different error and keystroke rules. Personal bests stay only in this browser.
